7 Women Share The Most Embarrassing Things They Do Post-Workout

There are plenty of things worth sharing post-workout: sweaty selfies, the number of miles you just logged, or a hot shot of your abs progress. But there are some post-exercise habits that will NEVER make an appearance on your Instagram stories.

So, just to reassure you that there’s no shame in your sweaty brunch game, we got a bunch of women to confess to their bizarre post-gym habits. (If you say “YASSS” in your head to more than one of these, no judgement.)

THEY DO STINKY BRUNCH

“No one has time to fight for showers at SoulCycle when you have brunch plans to get to. If I need to look more dressed up, I’ll keep my sweaty black leggings and toss on a sweater and boots and call it a day. Public apology to all the people who’ve ever sat next to me at brunch.” —Emily, 32

THEY DON’T SHOWER

“If I want to work out before work and still get to work on time, or if I have a date with friends after the gym, sometimes I have to skip the shower. Yes I got sweaty, but as long as I don’t smell, no one really knows. So body wipes, dry shampoo, deodorant, and body spray it is!” —Elizabeth, 29

THEY DON’T WASH THEIR HAIR

“I once did three workouts without washing my hair. Two were in the same day one was the next morning. I finally washed it when I got home at the end of the third day.” —Mallory, 30

THEY THROW THEIR WORKOUT CLOTHES EVERYWHERE

“If you throw your gym clothes right into the hamper post-workout when they’re still wet, I feel like they get musty and start to make everything smell. So when I get home, I strip down and lie my clothes out all over the floor to dry. I live alone so I don’t mind the mess—but I’d never let anyone see my apartment like this. It sometimes even makes my apartment a tad smelly, but I just open the window to air it out.” —Nicole, 30

THEY CHANGE THEIR UNDERWEAR LIKE THEIR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT

“Not all of us can stay in our sweaty underwear and leggings without risking the chance of ending up with a yeast infection. I usually just say I want to change out of my sweaty leggings if I’m going to brunch or coffee with people post-workout. It makes sense—they think I just don’t want to smell, and I’m okay with them not knowing the real reason.” —Alexa, 26

THEY STOP FOR FAST FOOD

“When I was training for my first half marathon I would reward myself after my long runs with a ‘number 2’ at McDonald’s on the way home. If I didn’t want my husband to know, I would eat it in the car before I went into the apartment.” —Jennifer, 31

THEY PASS OUT FOR HOURS

“After a hard workout, I look forward to having a productive day. But sometimes when the workout is super difficult, I’m exhausted by the time I get home. I sit down on the couch or my bed and next thing I know, I’m out and end up sleeping about two hours. So much for productive!” —Molly, 27
