Aware in every Moment: So you can train mindfulness

A Meeting chases the next, the phone constantly ringing, in the evening, a quick look in the mail: In everyday life, many people are constantly under Stress.

Mindfulness is regarded as as a patent recipe. But that is just a buzz word – and what is actually behind it?

Mindfulness trainer Mathias Gugel says: A careful use of self can relieve symptoms and complaints to Stress – he wants to be learned.

In an Interview with the German press Agency, he talks about conscious showers, constant Smartphone distractions, and teeth brushing for the mind.

What is mindfulness?

Mathias cowl: mindfulness is an open and non-judgemental attitude in life from Moment to Moment. I am mindful that I get more clear what is going on in me and in my environment without this experience, to rate the unpleasant, immediately.

So I can learn to cope better with Stress and other pressures, and to make informed decisions. Without falling into habitual patterns, the Stress can cause.

Why do we hear particularly much about mindfulness?

Cowl: mindfulness is actually a trending topic. In my courses, both students and senior citizens come. They all feel a certain pressure and want to change something in your life.

This demand for mindfulness, I see as a counter-trend to developments such as the work of compression or of irritation and information overload experienced by many.

The Practice of mindfulness can help us to develop Serenity and inner peace in a world that is experienced by many as an accelerated and uncertain.

Alone by the Smartphone, we have the ability to permanently distract. We do that also. If you have to wait three minutes on the train, automatically comes in the grip to the Smartphone.

This confusion has an impact on the mind, brain, and well-being. We realize that this makes us permanently happy.

How can mindfulness we counteract this?

Cowl: Through mindfulness we learn that we have our custom pattern aware and can change. We recognize, as we are knitted and develop the freedom to be a conscious choice from Moment to Moment.

Of small true-to-life things such as the question: I Need a short break? To the big questions of life, such as: What are the values I represent, actually, and of the kind of people I want to be surrounded?

However, this is not from today to tomorrow. It must be practiced for a while, approximately eight to twelve weeks. Without this Exercise, we remain in our old experience, and repeat again and again.

This is simply due to the nature of our brain. It is changeable, but it needs time for the conversion, so a learning process.

How can you practice mindfulness?

Cowl: with guided mindfulness exercises such as breathing or walking meditation, for you are aware of a certain time of the day gives – almost like brushing your teeth for the mind. On the other, in the exercises inserting small Mindfulness consistently in the everyday life, so that they become habitual.

A super Exercise can be, for example, the showers. So an activity that we often do on the side while we go thought or the day’s plan.

If we focus on that, to feel the warmth of the water and to smell the scent of soap and Shampoo, is showers for the sensual experience and thus to be an Exercise in mindfulness.

Even if our concentration wanders at the beginning, maybe after a few seconds, and our thoughts somewhere else to go – as soon as we notice the mental Drift, it is a Moment of mindfulness.

In the next step, we focus our attention in a friendly and targeted to the sensory experience. So we can practice mindfulness as a muscle.
