Recall: Aldi Sandwiches are contaminated with Listeria

At Aldi sold: the manufacturer is calling back a Sandwich because of possible bacterial contamination

The Food Manufacturer H. J. Fabry’s Food & Snack GmbH & Co. KG, based in Düsseldorf, has launched a recall for their product “Snack Time Sweet Chili Chicken on wheat bread”. In the Sandwiches, which were sold at Aldi Süd, are located could be health-threatening bacteria.

Sandwich should not be eaten

The Sandwich Maker H.-J. Fabry’s Food & Snack GmbH & Co. KG, based in Düsseldorf, calls its product “Snack Time Sweet Chili Chicken on wheat bread”. The company is asking all consumers to consume the Sandwich that was sold through Aldi Süd. “Own investigations have shown that the product may have the germ Listeria monocytogenes,” writes the company in a customer’s information. “This germ can cause flu-like symptoms in sensitive groups of persons, under certain circumstances, a very serious disease (“listeriosis”)”, – stated there.

The purchase price will be refunded

According to the figures, products with a date of minimum durability are affected by the 20.12.2018 to 06.01.2019.

As the company explained, was delivered of the article in question, article 16 of 30 Aldi Süd-regional companies “in the Federal States of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.”

The product can be returned in all the branches of Aldi Süd. The purchase price will be refunded without the presentation of receipts.

For Weak and Pregnant women, the bacteria can be dangerous

Listeria (Listeria monocytogenes) can cause in humans, under certain circumstances, a so-called “listeriosis”.

The disease can cause symptoms such as vomiting, muscle pain, diarrhea, and fever.

In healthy adults, the disease takes usually a harmless course, for Pregnant women, newborns, the elderly and people with weak immune system, they may be dangerous in some circumstances and for example lead to blood poisoning, brain – or the brain skin inflammation.

In Pregnant women the risk for a Premature birth or a miscarriage is on the rise.
