You might think that, when it comes to complexion makeup, Kim Kardashian West would refuse to wear anything other than her own KKW Beauty powder, concealer, and foundation. There's just one problem: There is no KKW foundation. (At least not yet.) So Kardashian West turns to Meghan Markle's favorite foundation, and in a new tutorial, she turns to a celebrity-favorite makeup artist to apply it.
Byrdie reports that Patrick Ta — whose clients include Allure September cover star Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Chrissy Teigen, and Olivia Munn — joined Kardashian West on her app to share his technique for flawless foundation, which hinges on using Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which promises to brighten and sculpt while blurring imperfections, yet it lets features like freckles show through.
Ta taps the foundation onto Kardashian West's face with a damp Beautyblender, Byrdie reports, following through down her neck and applying it to her eyelids so everything matches. He then uses the Morphe G17 brush, typically used for blending eyeshadow into the crease, to blend the foundation into her under-eye area.
Although the Luminous Silk Foundation alone does wonders, Ta perfects Kardashian West's complexion with concealer and powder — and even though KKW Beauty makes those products, Ta goes with Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer and Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. And interestingly, Ta uses a second foundation, Kryolan Dermacolor Camouflage Creme Foundation, as a way to highlight the area under Kardashian West's eyes and next to her nose.
The result: Ta's signature look that even a filter fanatic like Kardashian West would post with #nofilter.
