Earlier this week, Jessie J got incredibly candid about struggling with nodules on her vocal cords that have kept her from singing without pain. Now, she’s pushing forward.
Jessie shared in a new pic posted in her Instagram Story that she’s working on loving her body. “Had a moment with love/silence and some honest conversation with myself and my body this morning,” she wrote. “Feel empowered.”
In the photo, Jessie is wearing black underwear and nothing else while standing in what looks like a bedroom. The message of her post is important, but it’s hard to miss the fact that she’s working some seriously toned legs and tight abs. Jessie followed that up with another photo of herself, writing, “Don’t forget to love yourself. Every bit.”
Jessie shared her message(s) after posting a video on Instagram that shows clips from her “I Want Love” video interspersed with videos of her nose and throat getting poked and prodded by doctors. “If anyone is doing any discount codes on new bodies. DM me,” she joked in the caption.

OK, but the body she has is pretty frigging impressive, and Jessie has made it more than clear that she goes all in when she works out.
“When I come out of the gym, I’m blotchy red and sweaty, but I feel good. It’s about the longevity of your life, not how you look in the morning,” she told HuffPost in 2017.
Her key to success? Mixing things up. Jessie has shared plenty of videos on Instagram that show how much she adds variety to her workouts. In one video, she went to town on the stair climber while jokingly having her hair blow everywhere; in another, she used a rower while singing, “I hate the rower!” She’s also posted vids of herself doing bodyweight exercises and using resistance bands.
Jessie trains for her tours with martial arts expert Sonja Moses, and does some pretty intense moves, including X jumps, ninja burpees, lunges with front knee kicks, and more, according to Women’s Health UK.
While Jessie clearly gets physical perks from working out regularly, she says she loves the mental side effects that come with consistent sweat sessions. Exercise “really makes me feel positive,” she previously told Women’s Health UK. She continued, “it releases endorphins—and I never really used to believe in that until I started working out. You do really get this sluggish feeling before a workout where you’re like, ‘Oh, I don’t want to do it,’ and you might feel a little low. But you do a workout, and it gives you that pickup. It makes me feel alive.”
Glad to see Jessie is back to loving her body after all she’s been through!
