If sleep is still a problem for you or your child, visit the NHS website for advice.
According to the NHS, there are several ways you can increase your chances of dozing off.
These include:
- Sleeping at regular times – routine is good for your internal body clock
- Winding down – try taking a bath, relaxation exercises or apps designed to help you sleep
- Make your bedroom sleep friendly – make sure your bed is used for calming activities only so your brain sees it as a place of rest
- Put that phone away – turn off your electronic devices as these can be distracting and keep you awake
- See a GP – if you’re seriously concerned about your sleep pattern, talk to your doctor for more advice
