After more than two decades of starring in some of Hollywood’s biggest action franchises, 2020 may prove to be Vin Diesel’s busiest year yet. In addition to Fast & Furious 9 due out in May 2020, the 52-year-old actor is also set to appear in the fantasy thriller Bloodshot—about a reanimated soldier who gains superpowers after being brought back from the dead—along with mega-projects like Avatar 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and xXx 4 all in various stages of development.

In those rare moments when he’s not on a movie set, Diesel’s proven through his frequent Instagram posts that he’s often putting in work at the gym. Last Thursday, the actor once again proudly showed off the results of all that effort, posing shirtless on the beach while holding a surfboard and revealing an impressively lean physique. “We will find a way, or we will make one,” Diesel captioned the post, adding a plug for Barca BC, an MMO video game that he’s backing.
While Diesel’s workout posts don’t typically go into much detail about his actual routine—one from two months ago showed him simply using an ab wheel—he did open up to Men’s Health UK in 2017 about some more general aspects of his gym routine. “I shock the muscle with two sets of power lifting and then go into higher-rep sets afterwards” he said. He later added, “I work out less and enjoy it more these days. It’s a time in my week where I don’t have to juggle things. I can just exercise and be present.” That’s a refreshingly healthy attitude to have, whether you find yourself knocking out reps in the gym, or taking a break from it all on the beach.
