It's six years to the month that Rihanna's song "Diamonds" hit radio waves, urging listeners to "shine bright like a diamond." Unfortunately, she didn't provide instructions on how exactly to do that — until now. Or at least that's how I'm choosing to interpret the new Fenty Beauty launches announced on the brand's Instagram on Friday.
In a series of posts, we learned that Fenty Beauty is releasing both a new highlighter and a new shade of Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer — the second ever color of the beloved lip gloss. "The lipgloss that made you fall in love, in a brand new shade! #DIAMONDMILK #GLOSSBOMB is a shimmery wash of pearl that’s like a dewy highlight for your lips! And you KNOW it has the same, ultra nourishing feel of our original gloss bomb, just now in a whole new milky pearl shade.," reads the caption accompanying a photo of four of the glosses, which appear white in their bottles.
A second post about the new Diamond Milk Gloss Bomb shade is a video showing it being applied to forearms with three different skin tones, shimmering almost iridescently on each. "When it feels as good as it looks! The #DIAMONDMILK #GLOSSBOMB has the same shea butter conditioning formula, with an amazing peach-vanilla scent. Rock this dewy highlight for your lips on its own or pair it with your favorite lip color," the caption reads, suggesting it can be layered over other lip products to create a soft, glimmering effect.

The captions also indicate that Diamond Milk Gloss Bomb will be launching on September 7, alongside a new product called Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil, which Fenty Beauty is touting as a winter version of a beloved sold-out product. "This show-stopping, crystal-coated sparkle is a jelly-powder formula melts into your skin like butter and will have you looking like you're dripping in diamonds," says a caption accompanying a picture of the uniquely textured new highlighter. "It gives you a colorless, ultra sparkly sheen that looks beautiful applied as a highlighter on the face or on the body. Did someone say winter #BODYLAVA?!"
A follow-up post shows Diamond Bomb being swatched on the same forearms, with a caption explaining its versatility: "This is how we bathe in diamonds! #DIAMONDBOMB is a colorless, diamond-dusted sparkle that can be applied underneath your foundation for a more subtle glow or on top for a crystal-coated pop! This jelly-to-powder formula is fun to touch and melts effortlessly into the skin." Hold up — underneath foundation? Mind blown.

“I am obsessed with Gloss Bomb. I created Diamond Milk because I wanted a color that was like a dewy highlight for your lips. It gives you that juicy luscious effect and looks good on everyone," Rihanna said in a Fenty Beauty press release, also noting that the sparkle in Diamond Bomb is "just insane!" And according to that press release, Diamond Bomb is the launch Fenty Beauty was hinting at when they posted a photo of Rihanna getting ready for the 2017 Crop Festival, implying she was wearing an upcoming product last August. The inspiration for the shimmering face and body highlighter — which comes in one shade, How Many Carats?! — goes back even further. It was formulated to resemble the crystal dress Rihanna wore to the 2014 CFDA Awards (above).
Both Diamond Milk Gloss Bomb and Diamond Bomb will be available at fentybeauty.com and Sephora on September 7, one day before the brand's one-year anniversary.
