Charlotte Tilbury is having a very good summer. The Ibiza-born makeup-artist-turned-beauty-mogul has spent the warmer months churning out a whirlwind of innovative launches and updating one of her best-selling products. In August, she blessed VIB and Rouge members everywhere with the news that her eponymous beauty line will come to Sephora on September 14. As of press time, she's on a boat off the coast of Ibiza. Her life (and her makeup) is anything but casual, so when she launches a new product, we know it's going to bring the glamour. Next up? A two-product extension of her iconic Pillow Talk lip range.
In lipstick and lip pencil form, Pillow Talk is beloved by both makeup fans and celebrities as a one-size-fits-all neutral. It's a pinky-beige color that looks rosy on my skin and maybe soft brown on yours. When she first formulated the lip pencil five years back, Tilbury set out to make a neutral shade that looks good on lips of all skin tones. "I wanted to alchemize that nude and pink, pout-perfecting color that I used to mix by hand," she explains in a statement. "It was a color unique to me — I knew I could bottle a ‘suits-all’ hue that would mimic the delicate rose-blush-skin hue, so one could trace over the natural lip line to enhance it effortlessly." Now, she's bringing her universally flattering touch to eye shadow and blush
First off, you have the Pillow Talk Luxury Palette ($53), which is Tilbury's signature eye shadow quad done up in shades meant to both evoke and complement the Pillow Talk lipstick. As with all of Tilbury's Luxury Palettes, this one includes four shades (with a color to "prime, a color to "enhance," a color to "smoke" and a color to "pop"), all in different iterations of blushy pink to blend together or wear apart. There are two matte shades (a dusty pinky-taupe and a matte rose, the latter being the closest to the color of the Pillow Talk lipstick) and two shimmer shades (a twinkly baby pink and a rosy bronze hue that looks like crushed velvet in the pan). A press release calls it a "supermodel eye palette," which makes sense since Tilbury is the makeup artist behind beauties like Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford.
Next up is the Cheek to Chic 'Swish & Glow' Blusher ($40), which is a very British name for powder blush. But this compact doesn't just contain Tilbury's trademark beige pink shade — in the center of the compact it also has a circle of gold-flecked pale pink to combine your blush and highlight into one. As Tilbury describes it in a statement, "If you’ve been dreaming of a blush and glow that makes you gleam forever, then this is the blush for you at all ages." The name Swish & Glow comes from the technique she crafted to go along with the blush. "Swish" a pop of color to the cheeks to stick to one shade, then swirl the blush into the "glow" shade to add some shimmer.
Pillow Talk fans mark your calendars: the new Pillow Talk Cheek to Chic Blusher and Luxury Eyeshadow Palette will be available exclusively at CharlotteTilbury.com starting Sephora 6th.
