Pat McGrath herself is a gift. The legendary makeup artist is a constant source of inspiration, from fresh-faced looks to unexpected color and finish combinations. But even though she owes none of us mere mortals an incredible holiday collection, Mother McGrath has found us worthy of some of the most gorgeous beauty gifts we've ever seen, launching later this month in Pat McGrath Labs' Opulence Collection.
“When it comes to the holiday season, for me, it’s all about adornment. These electrifyingly essential 18 shades are perfect for creating an infinite array of luxurious looks — from the subliminally sensual to the seductively sublime and the startlingly subversive," McGrath says in a brand press release. The 18 shades she's talking about are divided among three new eye shadow palettes, each $55, that are as beautiful on the outside as they are once opened.
Mthrshp Subliminal: Dark Star's feature the shades Enraptured (gleaming metallic gold), Interstellar (iridescent metallic blue duo chrome, Metropolis (velvety pearlized aubergine), Dark Matter (metallicized satin onyx), Entice (luminous glittering gold), and Deep Space (smoky metallic blue matte). Mthrship Sublime: Bronze Temptation's shades feel especially Christmassy, featuring Supernova (iridescent emerald green), Provocatrix (copper rose duo chrome), Corruption (bronzed burgundy duo chrome), Dark Paradise (blackened brick red matte), Celestial (gleaming champagne), and Burning Desire (matte terra cotta). Mthrshp Subversive: Metalmorphosis is touted as the next generation of the limited-edition Lab Metalmorphosis 005, featuring all gleaming metallic shades in Sterling, Gold Standard, Bronze, Smoked Amethyst, Metallurgy, and Copper.
The brand gave nine of its best-selling MatteTrance Lipstick shades, each $38, a makeover to accompany the gorgeous packaging of the eye shadow palettes, dressing up Guinevere and 1995 in turquoise to match Mthrshp Subliminal, Omi and Elson in red to match Mthrship Sublime, and Christy and Forbidden Love in Pink to match Mthrshp Subversive. The shades Flesh 3 is available in all three tube colors, which are accented with golden lips.

As if new MatteTrance bullets wouldn't provide enough lipstick satisfaction, Pat McGrath Labs is launching an entirely new kind of lipstick called BlitzTrance. Inspired by David Bowie and Marc Bolan, these eight shades are basically glam rock in lipstick form. The brand promises they deliver "a hi-fi, crystal flash glow with ultra-reflective pearls suspended in the silky texture of a lush, emollient-infused formula," which can be worn sheer or full-coverage.
The shades (pictured up top) include Nude Romantique, a coral rose with golden pink pearl; Flesh Fatale, an electrified bronzed rose with golden pink pearl; Fuchsia Perfect, a bright pink with pink and blue pearl; Cyber Orchid, an ultra-violet pink with blue pearl; Rebel Red, a cool red with copper and pink pearl; Club Kiss, a magenta with pink pearl; Blitz Gold, a true gold with yellow pearl; and Electra, a crystalline copper with gold pearl. Each one goes for $38.
Set two reminders on your smartphone for these incredible holiday launches. The eye shadow palettes and MatteTrance lipsticks hit patmcgrath.com on October 18, and the new BlitzTrance Lipsticks land there on October 25.
