Even before we were spending so much time at home and were encouraged to avoid unnecessary public outings this year, courier services were having a tech-fueled renaissance. And since working — and doing pretty much everything else — from home has become the norm, same-day (and even same-hour) delivery hasn't just expanded, it's exploded. Uber Eats and Grubhub have been bringing us food from restaurants that never previously delivered; Shipt is bringing us our Target orders shortly after we place them; and Instacart has even started same-day delivering beauty products from Sephora.
Now, another beauty powerhouse will be hopping on the expedited-delivery bandwagon: MAC just became the first U.S. beauty brand to launch Postmates Same-Day Delivery Service online.
"We are extremely excited to launch MAC's first same-day delivery service on maccosmetics.com," Estée Lauder Companies' vice president of global omnichannel and online strategy, Pamela Cholankeril, said in a statement, noting how it complements MAC's existing buy-online, pick-up-in-store option. "This valuable service delivers on consumers' increasing interest for convenience, choice, and high-touch service across channels and MAC touchpoints."
Here's how it works: Simply shop on MAC's website as you usually would, and when you reach the checkout page, you'll see a box for shipping and one that lets you "get it faster" via free pick-up or Postmates. Choose Postmates, and you'll be charged $8 to have your order rushed to your door in as little as two hours. All shoppers within 10 miles of a MAC freestanding store are eligible for Postmates Same-Day Delivery Service — and that covers more than 4,000 cities.
The service starts just in time for the holiday season — and what will inevitably become last-minute gift shopping. But let's be real: This will come in especially handy when we didn't realize we were down to the last drop of our Allure Best of Beauty-winning MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline, am I right?
