Spruce & Bond to Close 3 NYC Locations

Spruce & Bond, a chain studio that offers laser hair removal and waxing services, announced today that it is closing three of its Manhattan locations.
Studios located in NoHo and the Upper West Side are to close at the end of the day on Saturday and the Flatiron location is to close Sunday. Locations on the Upper East Side and in the new Hudson Blvd inside Neiman Marcus at Hudson Yards will remain open.
In an e-mail to customers, the company attributed its abrupt store closures to "the challenges of the increasing cost of operating in NYC."
Spruce & Bond is part of the Hudson Blvd Group, which includes in its portfolio Rachel Zoe's DreamDry blowout bar, Valley Nails and Pucker, a makeup studio. Robin Moraetes, a former CAA agent who founded DreamDry with Zoe, serves as Hudson Blvd Group's founder and president.
Hudson Blvd Group operates Blvd salons, which incorporate services from all the brands in its portfolio, at Neiman Marcus stores in Manhattan and Short Hills, N.J., and a separate location in Scarsdale, N.Y.
A spokesman for Hudson Blvd Group did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
